Grocery Shopping List by Capitan App Reviews

Makes grocery shopping easier

Cozi has been my go-to list app for years, but Capitan does grocery lists so much better. The auto-categorization, along with smart auto-complete/suggestions, makes this a must for shopping lists. Capitan also performs much better on Apple Watch than Cozi -- Cozi is nearly unusable on the Watch. Its just the beginning for Capitan -- looking forward to what future releases bring. Highly recommended!

Great shopping list

Helps to organize my shopping routines, love the sharing feature and geo notifications when my close ones are at the store. Best shopping list app out there!

Love grocery lists

Awesome free app that does what it has to do - smart categorization of items and even sorting for each list (like how I can keep multiple grocery lists). Like the colored categories and sharing is pretty easy, love the IMMEDIATE support messenger in the settings, had some issues with sharing but then got it resolved through support, amazing!

Awesome app!

Fresh and awesome UI, easy to use grocery list, like that I can share lists directly through email even if I don’t have people in my contacts list, helps a lot! Definitely a saver for my family and household, love it and the fact that it’s completely free makes it the best grocery shopping list in the app store

Facebook and contacts no thanks

Best shopping list maker

Love it, seamless synchronization and smart suggestions. Definitely switching from other groceries apps to Capitan!

Contacts do not work properly, defeats the purpose of the app

As others have stated in the reviews, I too am unable to find users in my Facebook contacts AND users who are quite clearly in my contact book. As a result, this defeats the whole unique purpose of this app - sharing lists with family and friends. As it stands now I have no use for the app. The only reason I am keeping it (temporarily) is the hope that the developers will resolve the contact issues.

Amazon echo integration

This app is amazing. But we add a lot using our Amazon Alexa echo device. We then have a trigger with IFTTT that sends items to todoist. Make a tie in to IFTTT and we got a winner.

Contacts & Facebook dumps required

This app has the potential to be good but it requires connecting and uploading Facebook and Contacts list. I know who I want to connect to and do not want to give my contacts info to a service. Id pay a few bucks to have a version that let me directly connect the people I want to interact with in this app. 1 star for requiring full data dumps to use the app.

Most useful App ever

This is great for those of us that forget our shopping lists at home, but not your phone. Love how all family members can add to the list on the go.

Useful app

Hels me to make purchases

Tally

Thanks guys for great app, it really help in the mall) Great job!

Fantastic

This is very simple and useful app.

Buggy and unintuitive

This latest update hasnt fixed the issues. The minimalist interface is inscrutable and you really have no idea what to do in this app. Contacts appear sorted at random and the ones I need cant be found and added. Not sure where sharing would even be configured. This app currently isnt much use to me. And as far as sharing goes, this is far inferior to just using Apples Reminders app.

Hangs on add contacts

Looks like it would be a good list app but wont add contacts it just hangs and wont show my wife in the list when it does show up. I dont use Facebook so maybe that is why? Pretty much useless to me if I cant sync with my wife. Update has same issue with sharing.

Great app for grocery shopping

I used to use Shopper app for my grocery list, but have now switched to Capitan. Shopper had too many features that I never used and a was not as user friendly as Capitan. Both my wife and I love this app and would recommend it to others looking for simple and easy to use app.

Quite handy on Apple Watch

I have always wanted a "killer" app for the Apple Watch and this comes close. I can set up my shopping list throughout the week and then bring up the list on my watch and just tap the items as I find them. The developer did the right thing by putting a line through the text to show it as crossed off. Quite nice and easy to use. A couple of suggestions : >Add the ability to move items from one list to another. >Add barcode scanning to add "used up" items to the list. Would love to see someone allow users to add new items to the central database of barcode UPC items - kinda like Waze does with map edits. Then I could add my wierd health food that other apps dont recognize.

It doesnt work

iPhone 6+ ....it flat out does not work

Great App to use with Watch

This is by far the easiest app I was able to use with the Apple Watch for grocery shopping. Only one small irritation was the fact that I could not add new categories. But this is insignificant considering how useful the app is. Try it!

requires Facebook login, no thanks

Seems like a good idea but the requirement of logging in through Facebook is a non-starter for me. Facebook already has enough personal information thanks. The GPS functionality provides little value and just wastes power.
